Below you will see an example of how to set up your daycare areas in home.
This is by no means exactly the way it should be done. This is just how I personally have my home set up to utilize every bit of space that I can. I have had quite a few people ask
me for an example. So, here it is. I hope it helps....

As you can see in the above pictures, I have tried to utilize every bit of space available.
The white locking cabinets I bought at Wal-Mart for a very reasonable price and they hold all of our arts and craft supplies. They keep everything organized and out of sight untill I need something. The childrens table I purchased from Lakeshore.
It is just the perfect height for all the children to have their meals and to also work on arts, crafts and pre-school activities. I have the table up against the wall in the dining area so that it is out of the way but still acessible to the children.

In the picture above you can see the way I have the "Dramatic Play" area set up. I am lucky enough to have a large enough daycare area to have a playhouse inside as well as outside. This way the children can play all year long.
Inside the playhouse I have a trunk of dress up clothes that the kids use to pretend. I also have baby dolls, diapers, and bottles for the children to pretend and play house with. The party kitchen lets them use their imaginations for cooking, washing dishes and just all around fun. And of course we have to have a rocking chair so that the
children can rock their babies to sleep. :o) Children have wonderful imaginations and if they have the right toys to help bring those out, they can be anything they want to be.

This picture shows how I have my toy shelves set up and also shows my cubbies right behind the door where the daycare children enter. The stacking cubbies hold the children's diapers, blankets, extra bottles and wet wipes. This keeps everyone's things seperate and easy to get to.
The large red unit is our coat cubbie. This is where the children hang their coats and place their caps, scarves or shoes when they first enter my daycare.
The toy shelves to the right gives us plenty of storage space for all the toys that the children love to play with. I also used the red cubbie and the blue toy shelf as dividers to section off certain areas of the room.

This is my couch. The children love to sit here and watch TV or just take a quick nap. You can see the toy shelf next to the couch with the riding toys in front. The children enjoy pulling these out and playing in the middle of the room.

And last but not least is my desk area. This is where I work on all my daycare paperwork and keep everything that I need for my daycare organized. I use my computer all the time to print out daycare pictures, worksheets, and to look up arts and craft idea's from different webpages.
I would be lost without my computer. I keep all my daycare files on CD's that I can pop in to my computer and pull up any information that I may need at any given time.

I hope this has helped a little and maybe given
you some idea as to how you are going to arrange your daycare area. If you still have questions or comments, please feel free to either e-mail me at the link below.
Thanks again for taking the time to check out my webpages. I hope they have helped.
